Responsibilities:
- Compliance Strategy: Develop and lead the compliance strategy, keeping up to date with rules and regulations, and guidelines, ensuring our institution operates within the remit of all relevant legislation, with a particular focus on FCA regulations pertaining to motor finance.
- Policy and Procedure Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring they are in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Work alongside various departments to maintain a harmonized approach to compliance.
- Risk Assessment: Lead regular risk assessments and audits, identify potential compliance issues, and suggest remedial actions to senior management. Actively pinpoint and address any compliance vulnerabilities.
- Training and Education: Design and lead compliance training for the team to bolster awareness and comprehension of regulatory requirements, offering ongoing support and guidance.
- Compliance Reporting: Create and deliver timely and accurate compliance reports to regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and senior management. Ensure all necessary documentation is well-maintained and easily accessible for regulatory examinations.
- Compliance Monitoring and Testing: Oversee the review and testing of operations to assess their compliance with established policies and procedures. Analyze results and recommend enhancements to bolster compliance efficiency.
- Complaint Handling: Manage the complaint handling process for all activities. Thoroughly investigate any complaints, identify their root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Ethics and Code of Conduct: Champion ethical behavior and uphold our company’s code of conduct throughout the organization, promoting a culture of good outcomes for our customers and compliance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or similar role within the lending industry, preferably in motor finance.
- In-depth understanding of UK lending laws and regulations across all regulators.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying compliance requirements to diverse audiences.
- Collections experience
- A team player who can work collaboratively across departments, fostering a compliance-oriented culture.
